Before PayNest
National tourism thrived in person but struggled online. Travellers bounced between websites and apps for every need, making exploration confusing and disjointed. To compete in a digital-first world, the government needed one platform to connect its entire tourism ecosystem.

The Process
Working as the technology enabler for a leading local partner,we collaborated closely with Malaysia’s tourism ministry to identify opportunities to modernise. Using insights from merchants, government teams, and industry partners like Mastercard and MPay, we established a clear direction that could unify scattered services into one connected experience.
The result was a SuperApp designed around the realities of national tourism — high volumes, complex data flows, multi party integrations, and diverse user expectations. Rather than simply digitising what already existed, we reimagined how discovery, booking, and payments could work seamlessly under the official “Malaysia Truly Asia” identity.
The Solution
We built a national SuperApp that unifies discovery, payments, bookings, and rewards into one connected tourism ecosystem. Each feature is designed to simplify travel, empower merchants, and give the ministry real-time visibility across the sector.
Smart Travel Discovery
A central hub where travellers explore destinations, attractions, and curated experiences in one place. Ministry-managed content keeps information accurate, inspiring, and consistently aligned with Malaysia's tourism vision.
Tourism Wallet
A Mastercard-enabled wallet and virtual card give travellers a fully cashless way to book, pay, and redeem across the country. It supports stored value, QR payments, and forms the foundation for nationwide incentives and rewards.
Merchant Tools
Tourism operators can manage listings, bookings, and redemptions through clear dashboards and mobile-ready tools. Real-time insights make participation simple for businesses of every size.
Offers & Rewards
Integrated deals, campaigns, and Mastercard Priceless Experiences help merchants reach more travellers with meaningful, high-value offers. Travellers enjoy personalised, easy-to-redeem promotions throughout their journey.
Trip Planner
An intuitive itinerary builder lets travellers organise visits, save attractions, and manage bookings in one place. It creates a smoother, more coordinated end-to-end travel experience.
